How about New Orleans it will be near Mardi Gras but maybe not so crowded but you'll still get the festive air and New Orleans could definitely use the tourist flow and money post Katrina!!

Go to New York City, spend the night and fly back home. It is an interesting city to visit, take a walk in central park too.

I was so going to say Savannah or Charleston as well. The weather is mild right now so you don't have to bundle up. Unless that is your thing (cold weather, snow) in which case I would go to Aspen or somewhere like that.

The Flordia Keys. Or perhaps Charleston, SC or Savannah, GA. Charleston and Savannah are so romantic in the winter time, and not that cold either!
