and futhermore....if abortion is ok, then why do you people so desperately try to justify it?

so "pro choice" just sounds better then, huh. does it change the literal meaning of it?

Its called pro-choice, its saying that we don't believe that one persons religious value should dictate another individuals rights, and if by stating a few facts you mean desperately try to justify it; because it our right as guaranteed in the constitution. And speaking of desperately trying to justify things, the pro-abortion or pro-choice view point is based off of a scientific view point and backed by studies of or social environment and what is best for our society, have you ever correlated what the average criminals parental profile is and how it compares to the average woman having an abortion. What is the anti-abortion mindset based off of? And in answering that keep in mind that when religious values are put into law that it violates the bill of rights, the constitution and everything this country was founded on.

And while you’re throwing graphic terms out there you might want to catch up on a little medical science and few other things while you’re at it.
tearing of unborn babies limbs and heads off doesn’t happen in this country (or just about any other for that matter) a fetus doesn’t develop limbs until well into the 2nd trimester at which point most states don’t allow abortions, before that time a fetus is medically no different than cancer, its simply a group of cells that continues to divide uncontrollably. As for full term or partial birth abortions, your assuming that because one believes that a women should have the right to choose that they also support these as well in which case you would be entirely wrong (did I mention that they aren’t even legal and the procedure doesn’t involve tearing limbs and heads off, there’s no more trauma to the fetus than a normal birth).

And by the way, the bible doesn’t state when life starts, it doesn’t support pro-life or pro-choice.

i am pro-choice. and yes, i have seen the video of a sonogram of an abortion, and it is very sad to see. but when a choice to terminate a pregnancy in early weeks of pregnancy, the fetus is an embryo. the tearing of limbs, etc is when a pregnancy is more far advance. and in that case you will see that doctors will NOT perform an abortion past 12 weeks. that is the cut off that i have found at least in the northeast. Abortion should never be used as a form of birth control. it is a serious decision that one must make and is very hard. i myself have never had one, but i have gone through it with a family member to the point of being in the room when being its being done. and the sad thing is, in my opinion, is, that the people who are against it, what about the person who has to have that baby, now what happens? the child is born to a mother that really didnt want it, so therefore, that child can be abused, neglected. yes, there is adoptions, but what about the children in foster care and homes waiting to be adopted. theres many reason's on both sides, but my opinion is the same, pro-choice, my body, my health, my mind. let a child be a welcome choice. whether planned or by "early surprise".
and i justify it as much as you justify your views.

its not called pro abortion because people who are pro choice are not just for abortion, but that the woman should be able to choose. Pro choice says that the woman can choose what she wants, but pro abortion sounds like these people just want to abort babies for the fun of it. Pro choice people don't tell people to have abortions or anything, they just say that women have a right to choose.
And your other question as to why people try to justify it....because people like you always attack it...if we didnt try to justify it you would have no responses to your thread. Without attacks against abortion that come from people like you we wouldnt try to justify. That was a stupid question. You attack so we defend...how could you not think of that yourself

Abortion, while a woman's choice, is wrong. Most of the time, it's people who were too young, or too irresponsible to be having sex, or who are too selfish to take responsibility for their actions. If you can't afford a kid, you shouldn't have had sex. Are you 15 or 16? You shouldn't have done it, and your parents are idiots for not keeping tabs on you once in awhile. Is it right? No. To the person who posted leave it up to God in the other postin you made, you are not leaving it up to God, you are doing it yourself. Does it ever occur to anyone that God has a reason for everything, and by blessing you with that baby, he thought it was time, but you, being too selfish, decided to play the "it's my body" card so you could go out and party and hang out with your friends, or put your focus on your oh-so-important "career"? Is it right to justify is saying "it's just an embryo" or "they don't feel any pain"? No, it's not. You don't know what they feel. And remember, your children were embryo's once, and so were you.

BUT, it is not right to be making postings such as this, especially in the pregnancy questions. Grow up. You want the best for your daughters, who are 4 and 17 months? Stop acting like an idiot and pushing your sick postings on everyone else. Teach yoru children to have some common courtesy, because we don't need more idiots like you roaming around this earth, we have enough.

Also, to the person who mentioned religion and the Bill of Rights, you do realize this ENTIRE country, and our laws, are based on Christianity and the Bible. You should read it sometime, they have some stunning similarities.

this statement is so blatantly offensive. I am not a supporter of abortion used as a form of birth control. But I do however believe that women who are raped,victims of incest, may die if continuing with the pregnancy, etc. do deserve to have the right to terminate the pregnancy. I do not believe you, me or anyone else has the right to tell a woman she must carry a baby for 9 months and be reminded of her attacker, or even risk death to give birth. You have the right to believe that abortion is murder, I have the right to believe otherwise. That is the beautiful thing about being human. Difference of opinion. BUT you have no right to offend anyone or look down upon anyone just because their beliefs are different than yours. Remember, people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones !!

It is not a baby until it is born and breathing on it's own.
If it is a baby why do they call it a fetus?
Give it up abortion is 100% legal and it is the woman's choice and HER body.

A baby is a BORN human a pregnancy is NOT a born human. Murder can only happen to a BORN human. Since a pregnancy (zygote/embryo/fetus is NOT a BORN human then abortion isn't murder. Would you consider a miscarriage murder? A miscarriage is just a nice way of putting "spontaneous terminiaton of pregnancy" (abortion). As far as "tearing limbs and heads" off of babies...that doesn't happen in real life abortions...that only happens on those fanatic pro life sites where they show shots of chimp fetuses or "doctored" newborn animal photos and try to pass them off as aborted human fetuses.
How do YOU justify pro lifers bombing a clinic that not only houses an OBGYN office but a pediatric dental office where three BORN children ages 3, 7 and 8 were killed along with the dentist? Wouldn't THAT be murder?
Now how about THIS scenario. A young mother with three children is diagnosed with a kidney disease, she is warned that if she gets pregnant again and gestates to term she WILL die. Sadly she then finds out that indeed she is pregnant again...what is she to do? If she aborts she can live to watch her three children grow up. If she gestates the pregnancy to term she will die and most likely take the unborn fetus she carries with her. Are YOU going to be the one to tell this mother to gestate to term and leave her three children without a mother to raise them? Are YOU going to be the one to tell this mother than she will have to leave her children to her husband who works all day and can't be there to raise the children like she could?
In otherwords YOU don't have the right to dictate someone else's lfe choices. That is what pro CHOICE is about...the right of someone to make THEIR life CHOICES for themselves...not to have them dictated to them...it is NOT being pro abortion, there are CHOICES and it is the right for the woman to decide what SHE is going to do with HER pregnancy. And again abortion can't be murder since there is NO born human.
But go ahead and eat those Baby Back ribs (slaughtered pigs), slice into that veal cutlet (slaughtered calves), keep cranking out that permarin for HRT(manufactured from the urine of pregnant mares kept chained in stalls and artificially inseminated over and over while their foals are slaughtered for dog food and other things horse flesh is used for).

What one person posts a thing about this, so now everyone has to follow them? Its called Pro-Choice because its the peopls CHOICE on what they want to do. People try to justify it because you have people like you, who tell us to. People have the freedom to do what they want. And people like you are not going to change peoples minds. I disagree with abortion but that is a choice "we the people" elected into our government to write laws. Here in Q&A is not going to solve your frustration.
