It's your sternum, and at the bottom of it is another bone called the Xiphoid process.

the bone that's right there is called the Sternum; the bone that connects both sides of your ribs...but i dont know what the gap alone is called...i didnt even know it had a name. =)

th rib cage is attached to the sternum, also known as the breatbone.
