You sound like a big procrastinator like myself. I'm an adult and still do this.
Please understand that you aren't lazy. The other thing that can keep you from being motivated from doing the things you need to could be if you smoke pot or if your feeling depressed. If you are feeling depressed you need to find an adult youi can trust to talk to. Depression is very serious. If you don't feel like you can talk to you're parents how about a school counselor? Please keep asking for help. You can also call the local crisis clinic for help.

Well first off, it's great that you're taking responsibility and not blaming teachers/parents/friends/life, etc. I'm going through the same thing, I know I've got things to do, but I have been super lazy lately. So think about it, are you under a lot of stress right now? I know that makes me want to ditch everything and everyone. Once you've got that under control, you just need to set up a schedule. Sigh, I know, so cliche, but this time, just set aside a HALF HOUR to do what you know you need to do. That's not much, okay? 30 minutes. One TV sitcom episode. Believe me, once you're at it, you won't even notice when 30 minutes flies by, and by then, you'll be so into your whatever you need to do, you'll just keep at it until you're done!

the mind is willing but the flesh is weak :)
It's all about will power. You're being lazy because you're letting yourself be lazy. Obviously being lazy is of greater importance to you than getting things done. If you want to change that you have to prioritize differently.

I make lists of everything I need to do since I'm forgetful. I even break them down into smaller steps. So you could write "Make outline for essay" instead of "Write essay". The best feeling is having a long list of small things to do, and being able to cross them off. It's easier when everything's broken down step by step.

To me, and please remember this is only my estimation, it sounds as though you are bored. Find something(s) in which you are really interested and put them at the top of your priority list. Don't make those priorities take up all your time but put them at the top.
Do those first and realize there are other "boring" things you need to take care of.
Once you feel good about doing the things in which you are interested, it will be easier to take care of the tasks in which seem dull.
You'll feel enjoyment doing the things you enjoy and satisfaction in doing the things you feel as though you need to do.
People of high intellect are difficult to please - remember that.

You have to find what motivates you. I've seen what happens when you become too lazy, you have to fight it and keep going and your stamina increases. It takes time, but it's better than becoming a dropout and wasting your life away in a crappy job

maybe you have too high expectations of yourself, you take on too much and it gets overwhelming so you do nothing.
start by giving yourself small objectives and tasks and allow a lot of recreational time ( "I do't have to do anything now" time) It's absolutely essential. With time you will condition yourself to recognize when do you need to work and can you spend hours procrastinating on Yahoo answers.
