there is a dent in the OHC thing. so maybe thats whats wrong ? help please

it is a push mower. with the PULL string thing. brand is Troy Bilt w/ 5.5 Honda motor

Yes it sounds like culprit..... take the cover off and check for any damage.... because if it dented it enough to stop it.... you have some

These things are what they say they are... the cam (opens and closes the valves so it can run) is right under that cover driven by a belt.

I am a professional Master Small Engine Repair Man. I owned my own business. You have to give me more information. What kind of Lawnmower? Toro Rider Snapper, MTD, YAzoo, Murray?????
Or is it a push mower Briggs & Stratton with a front kill switch or a Tecumseh..Pull the handle back to start it???
