I've been waiting for Final Fantasy XII for the PS2 for over a few years now and I finally bought it a couple of months ago. On the first day I bought it, I played it for maybe a couple of hours because I had to work the same day. After playing it that day, I never touched the game since. I like the game, but I don't feel like playing it anytime soon. Last month, I bought The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Gamecube, another game I've been waiting for. I played that one for a couple of days, but then I haven't played it since. Am I losing my interest in video games? I used to skip school and even work to play video games a few years ago, but now, it's totally different. I really want to enjoy playing my favorite video games... but I don't know how. What do I do?

well don't look at it as negative, maybe you are just burned out. those games have a lot of hype surrounding them, but take time to go back and play some of your favorites and see if the love of video games is still there. it might just be the games. i know i kinda took a little break after i played oneof the newer FF games, and was pretty disappointed when i beat the newer kingdom hearts only a few days after release. stuff comes in waves.

another thing is that you might be maturing. *this is not to say that video games are immature* But it might be a sign that some other things are becoming more of a real priority to you, and video games can be a good side hobby and leisurely escape there when you need it.

a positive aspect is that you are recognizing this now. if you aren't interested in those games, sell them back while they still have a good trade in value, and realize you might be moving away from video games for a while and slow your investment in new systems or games.

don't look at this as a negative thing, just as an indicator of small changes in your life and that you might be looking for the next big thing for yourself. maybe you'll go climb mountains, become a pro at something, or might just need a break from the controller for a while, only to come back with a renewed passion.

good luck.

It sounds like you've been burned out from playing Video Games. It happens a lot to hardcore gamers more so than casual gamers. You're not 'losing interest' its that way with any hobby you become heavily engrossed in. Avid hunters to crossword fanatics will tell you the same thing. Just take a break from video games, more than likely after a few months it'll come back to you. I've had the same thing where I went months without touching my PS2 despite having games I was dying to play. Don't worry about it, its normal.
