All the labor is volunteer. My Husband did work on the one that airs tonite, (Chicago) he's a flooring installer. It's bs that they don't show much of the laborers who actually DO ALL THE WORK in the show. None of the laborers even saw whats-his-face at all. I guess the TV personalities were too good to mix it up with the help!

The show pays for the labor except for those who volunteer. The furniture is given by the different companies as an advertising expense so that their name is used on national TV. To the best of my knowledge the person does not have to pay anything for the home. I am not sure but I think they may be responsible for paying taxes on it.

all the people that whath that channel gives money as they view it . u know how you watch that channel and u pay tv bill. yeah the money from the time u watched that channel goes to them.
