I want to begin a career in real estate. I live in Tallahassee and don't know if I should pursue my realtor license or try to become a home inspector. I would appreciate any feedback from someone who knows the market.

your first 3 yrs you'll need to work 60 -80 hr weeks to have a living wage, as for being king of the pile figure on10 -15 yrs. even when you find some one to apprentice to life is cheap.
inspectors work when there are possible sales.
figure on humid hot attics, snake spider filthy crawl spaces and 60 - 80 hr weeks on call.
you said career in real estate? owner operator agent or inspector there are differences. choose wisely.

The real estate market was very slow in 2006 and may pick up a little in 2007. A lot of realators I know have other jobs to support themselves. One really good realtor I know had a great 2006. She knows her business and works hard at it. If you are willing to learn and work at it you can succeed at almost anything.
