Yes this news is true and Pelosi actually talked about it the other day. She said that she would work with Congress to close this loophole to make Del Monte and Starkist pay the new minimum wage. The reason they were not obligated to do so before is the fact that most of their labor is done in American Samoa and other US territories, which have been exempt from the minimum wage in the past. Pelosi said that she would work to close this loophole and make the minimum wage apply to US territories as well as US states.
