No, I disagree. I am 20 years old so this is not the opion of and oldler person. I believe that most of the kids today have no respect for their elders, parents, people around them or themselves. We are raising a generation of very selfish people. You do not see a teenage boy going out of his way to help someone without being asked, and ask him to do something and he wants to know how much you are going to pay him. Everything is being questioned and they grow up with no direction and no focus. If they make it through high school they don't know what to do from there. We have a very self centered society and if we don't change how we raise our kids it's only going to get worse with each generation.

No. I am a teen, and my parents only buy me things if I earn them. (ie. By getting good grades, taking care of my many pets and room, etc.) As a result, I have all of the clothes, gadgets, etc. that the other kids in my class have, but all have lower GPAs, most are lazy, and most are not going to have successful futures unless they shape up soon. People have to realize that money doesn't/didn't fall out of their parents' a*ses, and it's better that it happens when they are younger then when it happens to them when they are 30, unemployed with a drug addiction, and wondering how they got there while their parents never did.

Not a chance are kids today better than they used to be. Lazy, self-absorbed and only interested in the next game system and the latest cell phone ideas.

Yes
There is no need to worry. Even if most are spoiled there will always be great leaders among them.
Some have morals and intelligence and those are the true GenNexts kids that have been parented right.

they are careless and lazy, selfish, irresponsible, spoiled, snotty with poor attitudes and worse work ethics- the credit goes to lazy and irresponsible parenting with no accountability on the part of the parent or the child - the future looks scary

Oh spare me! All the "GenNext" kids have to look forward to is their commitment to material advancement..."bigger, better, faster, stronger"
These children will be more concerned about what they have, what they look like rather than what they know or what they think....COME ON NOW!!

By the looks and attitude of a lot of our young people , I'd say there wasn't much parenting being done.

No. As each decade passes each generation of kids are becoming more lazy, selfish, careless, disrespectfully. Should I continue?
And please do not mistake innocence and being naive for being dim-witted. Children of past decades were not idiots.
