Are there any brokers/banks/ other places which i can use to invest in the stock market if i'm 16 years old. i know about TD waterhouse but i would like to be able to have an idividual account. preferably one in Canada or atleast eligible to canadians.

I'm not COMPLETELY sure, but I do believe that to open an account, you'll need to be 18. I think you need parental consent and open up a "custodial" account. I am not entirely sure, I just know a friend of mine did this recently though.

I recall someone younger than that somehow thru his dads accounts he not only was trading...he was manipulating the market on message boards and was making a hefty amount of cash....until the feds came knocking and took the computers and jr away.

Have you tried E*Trade? Their services are available worldwide I think. TDwaterhouse I think is Ameritrade now, their services are good in USA, not sure about Canada.
