How long does it usually take to recover from a concussion?

I slipped on ice last Tuesday and hit my head. Doctor stated it was up to me when I should return to work. My whole body hurt very bad the next couple of days - I needed help to even get out of bed. I still have a headache but my body feels better. I have a physical job and am scared of doing too much too soon. Any help?

You should probably stay off work until it's been at least a week for the concussion to heal.

I would go to another doctor, to be safe. Hope you feel better soon.
