my friend she is 48 years old, got her period on january 5/07. and she still has it--it is been almost 2 weeks. she is really worried, so can you tell me if it is normal or not.

She should see a doctor. Is the blood bright red or dark? Is she cramping? Any unusaul foul odors? It could be anything from a hormonal upset, infection, miscarriage or fibroid to name a few. It is best to have this checked soon. If the blood is bright red it should be ASAP just to rule out a hemorrhage of some sort. Has the bleeding let up at all or has it worsened? If she is starting to feel weak, nauseuos, fatigued...etc it is also wise to be checked ASAP. Good luck!

well I'm not experience at this but I have heard a lot about it, it may be at the begining stages of Menopause. I know some women may get it for a very long time and than not get it at all for a couple of months at the beginning. Tell her to go see a doctor, I'm sure he can better diagnose it than I can.
