I planted some snail vines, boganvilas (spelled terribly) and a tropical vine on my back patio in the early fall (late August). Now that it is cold in Phoenix I have noticed that the leafs are falling off the plants and the vines look sparce. My question is will they all come back in the spring or are they dieing? The stems on the snail vine are still pliable but the boganvila looks a bit dry. Is this normal for winter or is it my curse of a black thumb???

For your area, the plants should come back if watered on warm days.....I left a boganvila[ I can't spell it either] out till a frost in Indiana and it did suvive after pruning and watering but it was never the same...lol... just trim any obviously damaged vines back to an apparently healthy node on the stem, then water and ferilize lightly.

I don't think that bougainvillea is hardy to frosts. The vine may be one that comes back in the spring, you can take a little piece of it to a garden center to identify it and find out what care it needs. The bougainvillia is probably toast.
