Im working on a theory and just tell me what you think::
When you get a new dog or cat, you should not wear perfume because it may blend in with your real scent and get the dog confused between what you really smell like. I think this is a pretty good theory. What do you think?

Interesting, but not plausible. They'll be able to smell the scent of perfume, but it will be a masking scent to the cat/dog. In reality that's all it is. A very strong masking scent. The human nose normally can't detect the difference, though. If an unwashed person with no deodorant just sprayed a bunch of perfume on his or her self you'd still smell the stench b/c it would overpower the perfume. Dogs and cats don't need that much of a difference to be able to tell.

Hmmm. I've had two kittens now who basically identified 'mommy' by the perfume I wear - when I change, it confuses them! Baby actually will sleep with the Amarige bottle if I leave the lid off the sprayer; and they both seemed comforted by my worn (and scented) shirts.

Yep...considering some perfumes have some animal pheromones in them

sounds plausible....but what about when you do wear it? Or change deodorants, shampoos, etc? Might be confusing
