I think most of us would feel pride when fighting for a cause or country...and yes it is a very warm and wonderful feeling. Gives meaning and purpose to life.

I've never actually fought for king or country, but to a smaller extent I've had that feeling while representing something in sporting events. The comradre of teammates, the exhiliration of the challenge, knowing that all of your preperation has come to fruition, I imagine that when there is something real at stake, the feeling is magnified immensly.

Far more satisfying to fight for honor and right, than for any king or country. If you feel the king is right, then fight for the king. But blind loyalty carries little pride.
