Shame on you. Trying to get other people to do your homework for you when everything you need is right there in your book. I bet you're just chatting with your friends on line hoping to collect answers to your assignment. I'll tell you what, if you re-post your question telling why you think the story is important then I'' tell you what Longfellow meant....maybe.
