you need to have 2-3 servings of fruits, i dont understand how much of fruit equals one serving.

A serving can consist of:

1 apple
1 banana
1 orange
1 cup of berries
a slice of watermelon, cantalope

From the Canadian Food Guide:

Grain Products - 5-12 servings per day
Veges & Fruits - 5-10 servings per day
Milk 2-4 servings per day
Meat & Alternatives 2-3 servings per day

Serving Sizes:
This is direct from a health check calendar :

"to determine a serving size, use an adult hand as a guide:

These are only tips:

1/2 - 1 palm of your hand = 1 serving of chicken, fish or beef (50 grams - 100 grams)

2 thumbs = 1 serving of hard cheese (50 grams)

fist = 1 serving of salad (1 cup, 250 ml)

thumb tip = 1 serving of margarine, (1 tspn, 5 ml)

The servings is per day. The servings vary, however. For example, a serving of a piece of meat should be about the size of a deck of cards. You can look up serving sizes online. The serving sizes vary for different foods.
