I'm not a huge fan of Valentines Day, certainly not a fan of card giving or overly cliché romantic things. However when you're in a relationship you're compelled to do something special, I'm trying to think of something to do with my boyfriend.

My initial thought was to go to a strip club, however I have never been to one before so I'd be worried about being uncomfortable and so spoiling things, going to a hotel might be another idea, but does anyone else have any other good suggestions for things to do on Valentines Day?

I go with the idea of a quiet special dinner at home, and avoiding crowds. After all, Valentine's day is the greatest "togetherness day" for couples.
You might also buy some special gift for your boyfriend, and something really sexy for yourself.

say "Screw Valentine's Day" and do something special for Groundhog Day instead. There will be less of a crowd, making things more intimate and less of a wait if you choose to go out to eat. Do something the two of you don't normally do, be it a hotel in town or a 2 or 3 hour road trip to a place with a museum or a ferry ride. Your finances and where you live make a difference in what I'd suggest.

Do the strip club thing some other time. Go with a guy friend (not boyfriend) to see what it's like and you can decide if you'd like to go with your boyfriend or not.

Have fun! And remember that you can show him you appreciate him without being gushy or sappy.

I HOPE YOU ARE OVER 21 YOUNG LADY!! LOL, forget the stripping thing, if you never been in one you don't want to do it on valentines, try that another time with your friends so that if you do feel uncomfortable at least you have your girls for support. Am no a fan of looking at some ranchy girls but hey! more to your power, I've been in a couple and I actually got a laugh at the shape of those women lol. Back to your question, I think that if you take some gift wrap and bows to the hotel oh and some edible under wears or chocolate syrup you would have a better time lol you being the sweet gift of course!

I'm not a fan of Valentines day either, just another money exploit by manufactures and basically if people have to wait until valentines day to show how much they love each other its a poor do and they need to sit down and sort things out, why not make a nice meal, put some romantic music on and have an early night, you don't have to be a sheep just because its Valentines day.

I have tried to do something bigger and better every year for the past 5 years but after spending last valentines days apart (he was abroad at the time) I have realised it doesn't matter what you do or how special you try to make it, the important thing is that you are together.
Do something personal like cook his favorite meal or make a gift. If you are still stuck for ideas try www. lovingyou.com for lots of romantic ideas.

Don't do a strip club if you have never been.Instead give him a strip tease yourself, get "Strip tease for real women" DVD.Or try something special at home or hotel room instead. Make him a special dinner you can get "Intercourses cookbook" it has recipes for aphrodisiacs that you can make and eat together or even better feed to each other.

to be honest, if you're doing it because you feel 'compelled' to doesn't that rather defeat the object?
how about one of those 'adventure' days like an extreme sports day....there's a company called (something like) 'buyagift' who sell them
