I think most of those are scams. I think they may be illegal in some places, too (or in all places). Technically it should work, but even if it did, the money you receive has to come from somewhere (ie: other people losing money) and hence why I think there are laws against it. The whole reason people/companies start these types of things is that it works out that they are the only people who really make any money off of the deal.

Can't you even tell by the speech pattern that you're not dealing with locals? No, they won't let you arrange to pick up the puppy (for a variety of reasons, the primary ones being they're not in the US and there's no puppy), and do you really think these people would have ANY trouble placing such an exotic breed like a pug locally?

it's a scam. There are too many of those kinds of letters going around, but e-mail and snail mail. They are tempting, but that's what people are hoping for. You may make a few bucks, but especially if you have to invest money, i'd be very skeptical. Stay away!

Not only is it a scam, it is illegal. It's called the Pyramid or Ponzi Scam
ps should you send out the letters some law enforcement agencies are not too particular who they arrest.
