Apple Laptop???

Question

My parents wont let me get a apple laptop!What can I do to get them to buy one!!????(plus i am willing to pay half of the money!)

Why would you want to get an Apple Laptop? Laptops are already more difficult to upgrade than Desktops. And Apple Desktops are even more limited than PC's. Also you are limiting yourself in software that you can use as well as compatibility issues if you want to share your documents. If you play video games on your computer, good luck finding a large selection.

As far as being less prone to viruses, it is a matter of there are not as many users therefore not as many people that are willing or able to write code (malicious or otherwise) for Macs. A Mac is just as able to get a virus as Windows. Linux can also get viruses the only thing that makes Linux "safer" is you can't make any changes to the OS without entering the Root password. This does not protect any user files. Mac OS X and Windows do not protect system files in this way. Both OS's can be configured similar to the way Linux uses root but you have to know what you are doing.

As far as Stability Mac is only more stable than Windows because:
1. It has fewer possible Hardware configurations.
2. It is entirely proprietary, this means it does not accept standard computer parts. Which means it will be harder and more expensive to up grade.
3. Less Software is written for it, therefore you have fewer possibilities of software conflicts with the operating system.

Linux is more stable than both Windows and Mac. It is more secure, has more networking capabilities and can be installed on PCs, Macs, and even Xboxes. It's stability does not come from limited hardware or software choices. All hardware can be configured to work with Linux. And most Linux users write thier own programs for it. Linux is the backbone of the Internet, without it the internet would be down more than it is up. Despite all of this there is still much you can only do on a Windows computer. Gaming is the only thing keeping Windows alive.

since they wont bye you one make a deal with them saying if come up with half the money for a laptop then will they match it. they will probly think that you cant do it then they might say yes then give them the money and say ill take a white one. :)
