If paleontologists say that all humans came from Africa, shouldn't all of us call ourselves Africans?

I guess I'm African. I mean I'm white but I would like to think my original ancestors came from the Congo area. I saw the movie Congo and it looks pretty cool. Freaky gorillas.

First, its not paleontologists, they don't study humans, they study dinosaurs. Archaeologists study humans.

And that was millions of years ago. The only people that are Africans are the ones born there within the last few thousand years. Everyone else moved on long ago.

As for the movie Congo.... what have you been smoking today?

Paleontologists say alot of things with an authority they really don't deserve,because they are often wrong-the further back in time the more wrong they often are.Maybe call yourself an earthling,but it's possible that would be inaccurate as well.

No. Labels are created to assist in clarification not to confuse. Presumably some group calls themselves Africans and they should be allowed to distinguish themselves by that name. If you are not part of the group and use the name, then you simply force them to find another name.

you need to do more research!Thanks to your white ancestors we are classified based on color rather than out origins. I do believe that we ALL descendants from originals( actual name for blacks since they are the first ones to b here) too bad that according to that theory your white butt was alienated from the tribes and into the caves you ancestors went lol. But on a serious note, I suggest you do more research, we are not Africans since our ancestors decided to migrate to different parts of the world. we are no classified primarily by race(color) and the by nationality.
