The democratically elected government of Iran was overthrown by an American sponsored coup (Operation Ajax) in 1953 to prevent Iran's oil resources from being nationalized. America supported the Shah of Iran's brutal rule over the Iranian people, and financed, armed, and supported Saddam Hussein in his fighting of a proxy war on America's behalf against Iran during the 1980s (in which America also provided chemical weapons technology for use against Iranian forces).
There is no record of Iran having ever invaded another country, and to a certain degree, the only reason things have gone so 'well' for American forces in Iraq is because of the Iranian restraining influence over the Shi'ite population of Iraq.
My question is this; Why is Iran considered the bad guy, if all they have done is try and own their own oil, help America by preventing 10 million Shi'ites from trying to kill them, and not being ruled by America....?

Are you kidding? Iran is sending in Hezbollah to train and aid the Mahdi army under Muqtada Al Sadr. This is "restraining" them?
Perhaps you mispelled and meant, "retraining" them?
As for your belief that Iran is a great place. You don't feel that Mahmoud Ahmadinijad's comments about firing a nuclear weapon at Israel to be at least a bit inflammatory?
Ahmadinijad has stated that his plan is to be the man who brings back the Islamic prophet that supposedly fell down a well 1000 years ago. Do you know how he intends to make this happen? Yes of course, destroy Israel. As you can see these guys are a bit Israel focused.
Your facts are inaccurate concerning our actions in Iraq as well, if not for us do you really think that Iraq would have a Democratically elected government with a Shiite in charge? Would Saddam be gone? hardly.

Iran- wants to wipe Isreal off the face of the map
Iran- funds hezbollah you know the same guys who kill our Marines and lanuch rockets into Israel until they have had enough.
Iran- Their republican guard found supplying IEDs to the terrorist in Iraq.

because all those years Iran never got to big for it's britches, now it is, and ironically the americans created this situation.
