Weird question...made me laugh, but I wanted to answer it before you get any misconceptions. Being Japanese, I've never heard of that....some people might have straight pubic hair, but there are people with other *kinds* of pubic hair (curly, wavy, etc.) I don't have straight pubic hair!!!!!(^_^) Does that make me not Japanese?
I've asked a similar question to Americans: do blond people really have blond pubic hair, or do they have brown pubic hair? People's reaction? A huge laugh of course...not a good question to ask in public out loud...
But then again, we learn something new everyday, right?

I have been to Japan and some people do have straight pubes, others are wavy, I never saw any with curls like westerners, but then I only saw about 50 naked men in a bath house and didn't look too closely.

Most Japannese people do not have a lot of body hair, they thought hairy Brit P.O.W.s where "unclean".

of course they do. i've been to japan so i do know.it is also true that the japanese female parts run horizontal.
