Should I use a sponge mop that you can pull the device to drain the water or the mop that has pieces of cloth? I just want a mop that picks up well.

The sponge mop is still the most convenient of all mop types. With a rag mop you need a bucket with a ringer. With a sponge you can just stick it in the sink.

I agree about the traditional cotton mops. I can't tell you how many of the "popular" ones I've tried from the t.v. commercials, including the ones you've mentioned. They all end up breaking or needing parts replacing all of the time. Such a pain. I used to have white vinyl floors, for seven years, in the kitchen. I'm pretty confident in this. You just have to use some elbow grease sometimes.

Don Aslett's mop with microfiber mop heads. Available thru QVC. Uses water only, no chemicals. It's the best unless you want disposable, then I recommend Swiffer Sweeper. I squeeze out the extra liquid and mop away. Keeps my white floor nice and smells good too.

The best mop you could ever invest in is YOUR HANDS AND KNEES!! and a bucket of good scented water. all other mops just smear things around.
