I realize that it could be easy to mistake the earliest symptoms of being pregnant, especially since they are so similar to PMS. But I read so often on here of women who have no idea that they're pregnant until the fifth or sixth month. I guess that just seems so unreal to me. From what doctors and medical professionals say, you can't have a period when you're pregnant, but you might have some bleeding that's lighter than your period, etc. Do all these women who don't find out they're pregnant until later in the pregnancy just not keep track of their period or not notice that it's lighter or different? I'm so confused about this. And what about gaining weight and morning sickness. I know not everyone has morning sickness, but wouldn't you notice before month five or six that you've gained a lot of weight? Just curious I guess. My mother and other women I've known who became pregnant all knew pretty early on. How do people not figure it out until their term is almost over?

I'm not judging anyone. I'm just curious. I don't mean to offend...

Some people don't experience pregnancy symptoms like morning sickness, or tender breast and they have very irregular cycles to begin with. I have had friends who don' get periods for 9 months at a time and they are definitely not pregnant. Everyone is different and not everyone has a 28 day cycle. People didn't realize I was pregnant until I was almost 30 weeks. Now at 40 I'm still not that big.
Sure, some people are in denial but that doesn't take away their right to ask questions. I know at the beginning of my pregnancy I didn't know what was hapening. Back then I thought that the only way I would be able to tell if I was pregnant is if I had morning sickness in the morning, sometimes when things don't affect you personally you don't want to learn about it. Once I knew I was pregnant I did my research and yes I asked stupid questions, though at the time they weren't stupid to me. Not one person on this earth is born with infinite knowledge and we all have different interests. Some people honestly don't know anything about pregnancy, and we shouldn't judge them.

I knew before I was due to have my period, HOWEVER, if you already have light periods, you might not notice the spotting is not a period, especially is you are irregular. Not everyone gains weight when they are pregnant. My mother only gained 10 pounds her entire pregnancy. A woman I know was in this exact situation with her second child. She is not uneducated. She was not fat, maybe 5 pounds over weight to begin with. She didn't have morning sickness with either of her pregnancies. When she was almost six months pregnant, she went for a pap smear and the doc gave her a test because of physical changes he saw during his exam. She had noticed her stomach was getting hard, but she had started an intense exercise program and just though she was doing her abs well. What a surprise to have over age 35!

Personally I had a period. I was tired but I assumed it was the stress I was under. I had a very light period to begin with. It was only 2 or 3 days. Most of the time I could use a panty liner. I didn't even have a bump until I was 5 months. Things like your period are easy to miss if it's not very prominent to begin with. I didn't gain a lot of weight. My clothes still fit. Actually people were very surprised when I told them. Although I did wonder why my breasts were getting bigger.

I'm now not writing a letter precisely, however I've been writing a being pregnant magazine for my little one, telling him/her what used to be happening at the same time I used to be pregnant : healthcare professional's appointment's, ultrasounds, how I've been feeling, matters like that. I consider it is neat for the little one to learn approximately whilst I used to be pregnant with them whilst they are older.

maybe they don't want to believe they are pregnant so they pretend they don't know
i don't really know i think it is about impossible to notice any of the symptoms after 5 or 6 months but i guess they will figure it out after 9 months
