Life goes on.
I like in the Sondheim musical "Into the Woods" where the end of Act I is "Happy Ever After" then the the beginning of Act II is that there is no such thing as Happily Ever After.
Or as the author character in the Sandman puts it: Happy endings are easy. It is all about knowing where to stop the story.
