7 < 10 which means 7 is smaller or less than 10.

Conversly, > means greater than.

It means 'less than'. i used to get mixed up with this. Remember that the 'point' always points to the smaller number.

E.g:

1 < 2 (one is less than 2)
2 > 1 (two is greater than 1)
x < y (x is less than y)
y > x (y is greater than x)
