If you want to be an active trader, watch Jim Cramers show (Mad Money), and Fast Money - both on CNBC. A good starting point, but you have to make your own decisions - everyone has their own viewpoint, and no-one is correct all the time.

I work as a financial advisor for General Electric (the parent company of CNBC), and can tell you that Suze Orman is a complete waste of breath. She thinks that mutual funds are THE only type of investment. She is also an egotistical prude, that is only concerned with selling her books!

Fast Money is another good one in addition to Mad Money, but it's definitely not intended for the conservative types that watch Orman.
