Don't help them. I am not sure what the problem is, but I know that when you try to help someone who does not want that help it only breeds resentment. Just love him/her where they are at and be patient. They will eventually realize that you are there, and they will ask you for help.

give them some space they probably want to deal with this problem on their own. im sure they appreciate that u wanted to help in the first place

all you can do is offer your help and ask them to please let you help them.If they refuse then all you can do is say to them"I really want to help you but if you refuse what can I do?If they refuse to let you help it is really tying your hands...So just tell them"Well since you won,t let me help you the offer still stands if you decide you are willing to let me...
