It seems like Jewish people are just so racist toward Muslims when they themselves have been tragets of racism historically speaking, and yet they continue to have their prejudices against Muslims. Also, this might sound incredibly racist, but it just seems from my experience, Jewish people are very unpleasant to be around, because I've known Jewish people before, or half-Jewish, and to me, they are always so opinionated and sit on this liberal moral throne, like they think they are superior to me b/c they are Jewish and have been persecuted and targeted, etc. I think to be anti-semitic is horrible, but I just can't help but notice that the Jewish people I've met, even the ones that are just half-Jewish, are just so unpleasant to be around..like I said, they always have something to say and it's just annoying.

To answer the first part of your question, Jewish people aren't really "racist" to Muslims, but with the countless deaths and bombings in Israel, it's kind of hard to ignore the people targeting us. Racism is quite a strong word to use when describing our attitude towards Muslims, and I have listened to numerous sermons in synagogue stating that Islam is a religion of peace and that it is the extremists that are hurting our people. But, as with all stereotypes, people are normally "grouped" together. Don't tell me that you have never passed by a person that has thier pants down to their knees, and is wearing a shirt that is so large that the short sleeves go past the elbow, and have not even grown the slightest bit uneasy.

As to the second part of your question, I don't know where you live but that conclusion about Jewish people's personalities and attitudes is a complete and total sterotype! At my Bat Mitzvah, the crowd was huge and lively, even though more than half the people had no idea what was going on because they were Christian. But the one thing in common with everyone in the room was that they were there to support my family and I on our special day. If Jewish people were as anti-social as you think them to be, most of the people in that room would have "had something else to do" on that Saturday. It is true that some Jewish people are opinionated, but that is the same in every religion. There will always be someone who is the "know it all" that doesn't know it all, but it is a terrible thing to say that all Jewish people are like that.

Unfortunately people like to generalise. Put everyone in the same category. With the incident 9/11 even though not all Muslims agree with it. There has been alot of accepted racism and people, will turn a blind eye when they hear people being racist towards anyone who looks like an Arab or anyone who is an Arab. This makes everyone feel really insecure and you'll get one culture saying one thing about one race and others saying another thing about another race. We all need to understand each other more by interacting with those different from ourselves. To stop being so judgemental. Before it's too late.

I agree with Raven and Fish1 (who already commented). You are judging a whole people very generally. Where did you get your information from? It is unfortunate if you were around a few people who were anti-Muslim, but generally, I have not seen a big anti-Arab or anti-Muslim stance. There is too much of a history to explain where feelings may come from- but you should do actual research about what happened in the Middle East (with concerns to the Pals- and why they were refugees from Jordan- and not welcomed into Saudi Arabia and other Arab lands). Jewish and Arab people were played as pawns against each other too- by the colonials. Lots and lots of details too complicated to go into. Read some sources other than the one-sided ideas you have already heard. I have friends who are Palestinian and Jewish who are married. Please do not judge a whole people- especially when they are only 3% of the entire country.

Generalization is always problematic. Unless you go to every Jewish house and meet every Jewish person, you cannot state our character as a nation.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience with some of the Jewish people, but how can you be so determine about the rest of us?
I know about 40 Americans (who happen to be Jewish), and I have to admit that I didn't like them all, due to some of the things you wrote (patronizing etc), but I cannot honestly say that all Americans are so and so, can I? On the other hand, I know at least 10 American people (who, again, happen to be Jewish) that are absolutely charming and lovely.

As for the racism thing- I don't mean to generalize, but if you go to the travel>Israel section, you will see some nasty questions and answers regarding Jews and Israelis that were asked by none but Muslim and Arab people. So it goes both ways.

~
My advice to you- don't rash to decide whether we are terrible or not. Take your time and meet at least 5 more Jews from different places. You are welcome to write me vie my profile :-)

I don't think she's being anti-semitic....I converted so I've been getting a crash course & welcomed into the inner dynamics of the culture.

Well the Arab/Muslim conflict goes back forever.. a sibling rivalry according to the book.
Jews have a long history of standing up for injustice, being outspoken, & rocking the boat. (african american rights, feminism, animal rights etc.).
Not all Jews agree with Israel's policies, or how non-Jews get treated there. Lots of humanitarian Jewish-Israeli groups are angry over excessive force & human trade.
Kinda like when slavery existed...Not *every* Southerner agreed with it, but all lumped together during the Civil War...Or how Americans are stereotyped by Europeans as fat war lovers!
The "liberal know it all" attitude is more Yankee(of any faith) to me (as a country gal ;-))...Most Jewish families immigrated there first, so this style of expressing words spread out...Sounds bossy but just a different tone.

Why do people like you make gigantic generalizations and give no supporting evidence whatsoever and then expect intelligent answers?

We have no idea what your experiences are, but you need to remember that your views on life may not mirror that of society. What examples do you have that Jews are racist towards Muslims? Jews aren't going around threatening to wipe Jewish nations off of the earth (although the leader of Iran is and also the leader of Hamas).

Your post is just a whiny rant without any real basis for a question.

Of course. After all, Islam preaches love of the non-Muslims. Just see what the holy Quran has to say:

"O you who believe (Muslims)! Do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whosoever among you takes them for a friend, then surely shall become one of their number; surely Allah does not guide (those Jewish and Christian) people." - Sura 5:51

"I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them." - Sura 8:12

"Allah is the enemy of the unbelievers." - Sura 2:98

"Kill them [unbelievers] wherever you find them. Fight with them until there is no persecution, and religion should be only for Allah." - Sura 2:191- 193

"Fighting is enjoined on you, and it is an object of dislike to you; and it may be that you dislike a thing while it is good for you, and it may be that you love a thing while it is evil for you, and Allah knows, while you do not know." - Sura 2:216

"Surely the true religion with Allah is Islam and whoever disbelieves in the communications of Allah then surely Allah is quick in reckoning." - Sura 3:19

I am a Christian but even I know the answer to that one. It is not racism you speak of but caution and distrust.....and for good reason.
It is the declared goal of most arab and muslim people, organization, groups, and religions, not just recently but in ages past, to DESTROY all Jews. And this declaration has not been solely an arab/muslim goal. Hitler did his best to meet that goal in the late 1930s and the early 1940s.
seems to me, I'd be like the Jews are, too, if it meant life and death as it certainly does.

Well...more than 14 centuries ago, the Koran said that the greatest hatred against Muslims comes from the Jews and Polytheists. Till now, this has remained...because God's word (The Koran) is everlasting and therefore does not change.

I know a lot of Jewish people and I find them to be intelligent, empathetic, creative and politically very well informed. I also find them to have the best senses of humor....there are so many great Jewish comedians. Perhaps you yourself attract the dregs of society because of your negative outlook.
