I know it sounds like a lot of work--try doing the house work--clean the dishes, mop, vacuum, do the laundry, cook dinner--I am a mother and these things would mean more to me than flowers that will die in a week or so, or something I may not use. Offer a night of babysitting if you have younger brother's or sisters so mom/dad/date (what ever) can have a night out. Make a coupon book with things that can done over the year where she can cash them in. Believe me--having something like that--that she can "cash in on" with out all the fussing of "but moooommmmm" would do wonders for her!

Clean her car, or her house or something else special that needs attention around her house. And don't forget to give her a big squeezy birthday HUG!

Making something would be nice. And write her a letter about the nice things she's done for you, why you love her and how you respect her? She'd love it.
