The Macbook now is the 2nd generation. Get it now and wait for Leopard. You say that you hate getting a 1st generation of anything. Think about it.....when Leopard finally comes out, it will be the 1st generation of Leopard.

The MacBooks that Apple offers right now are the second generation of the MacBook. Anyway I think most of the issues with the first MacBooks have been worked out.

There have been no official announcements about any plans Apple has to release a new MacBook along with Leopard.

Now, if you just buy the MacBook now, you can upgrade to Leopard when it comes out for about $130. It's really pretty easy to do the upgrade.

Leopard does have some pretty cool features (especially the backup feature, TimeMachine and enhancements to SpotLight), but Tiger is still very good!

I'd wait just for the new hardware to come out.
