Do you like the 1971 version with Gene Wilder, or the newer version with Johnny Depp? And why?

Always the original film is better, but I just looooooved Johnny Depp's theet. They were so white so perfect, so... oh my God... Perfect. Best charlie and the chocolate factory...old one... Best Willy Wonka... Johnny Depp :X

The Johnny Depp version is my favourite version. What can I say? I'm a Depp and Burton fan. That's why I like it better. Simple as that.

Well, the new one is awesome and jonny Depp plays a Very good stoner!! But you can't beat the orginal! Gene was the best Willy Wonka!

The old one I even think it looked better then the new one, even with all the new grapics.Gene Wilder did a much better wonka and looked the part johnny depp looked like michael jackson.

I like the older version better because it seems more real. The new one's full of computer animated stuff and THE OOMPA LOOMPAS LOOK FAKE in the new one.
But hey, that's just my opinion... but I think most people would agree the 1971 version rocks.

The 1971 version, because it stuck closer to the actual book and because they used little people for actual oompa loompas instead of the same little computer generated runt.

The older one is better. Johnny Depp rocks, but that film wasn't too great and everyone made it look spectactular, when it really wasn't. It was actually way too strange/bizarre for me.

johnny's version because of course he is in it and because it followed the book more closely and was true to it. The first one was way off and i have no idea how they came up with the oompa loompa songs and the golden geeses.
