This is a strange question in light of the linked article which has nothing to do with being friends with a black person but rather with how the stain of prejudice is applied to every area of our lives. The writer of the article assumes that because he is black he is treated the way he is in the incident described. This may, or may not be true. The important thing is that for the writer it is true. And, this sadly is what happens when we are damaged by prejudice, be it racial, sexual, cultural, etc.
To the asker of the question I would say that this poison has compromised your good judgment that you would even consider the question relevant. This speaks to the fact that prejudice and racism is an insidious disease that has impregnated the mind of still another.

That poem (not article) was written by a black guy that was possibly venting.
Who says that you have to be friends with only your race or ethnicity? Who says Christians can only marry Christians? Who says that age gaps are inappropriate between partners?
It's all a matter of who you are and who YOU feel comfortable with.
Yes, there are racist people in this world. So what? It's been the same for years, and people just need to learn tolerance. Of everything.

If you peel back the layers of skin on a black person and a white person guess what the colour is the same!! I think you have to look at the individual and not the race.

No there is nothing wrong with being friends with a black person. Then again, if you are so impressionable that you need to ask yahoo instead of learning through your own experiences, maybe you shouldn't.

Just because this guy has a bad thing happen to him cause hes black you don't want to be friends with black people now well that's nuts. and it makes you no better then the cop that did that to him.why cant you be friends with who ever you want just because of there color. that's not a good reason to judge a person. if your friends with someone that is black it don't mean that your going to have someone be racist to you and they shouldn't be to that person either we don't live it the 50s where if someone talked to colored people they hate you.so your just another racist person and you should keep your opinion to your self.

there's nothing wrong having a black friend. My best friend is black and I love her to death. I don't even see her color, I think she's beautiful, intelligent, and funny. Maybe if we stop looking at colors and start looking at the person inside, we would notice we are all the same. same problems, same joys, same needs.

No there isn't anything wrong for a white or asian buy to be friends with a black woman ,. She needs company, confort, sex,understanding and friendship she doesn't get from black males.

No, but it is wrong for a black person to be your friend. Actually it is wrong for any human being (and some animals) to be friend of someone who asks such a question.

Your question shows that you could not be a true friend to anyone at least I would not be friends with anyone that said something like that.
