Magic Mountain. Universal is very expensive and the rides are more teen or adult oriented. Would she enjoy the Jurassic Park ride where the t-rex pursues your tram up close? Would she enjoy the long lines for some of the virtual reality attractions?
Magic Mountain is more of a traditional amusement park with basic rides.

Depends a lot on what you like. For example, I don't really like torture atractions like those in Magic Mountain, but many people do and they seem to enjoy them. I would better go an all day tour in Universal Studios Hollywood and at night a shopping-eating-drinking tour in Universal Studios's City Walk to finish the day. But that's me, and I think I wouldn't take my five year old daughter to Magic Mountain since most of the rides are too rough for her.

Both may be a bit old for her but I'd prefer to go to Universal if I had to choose. Why is this in the Pets - Fish category?
