The thing to remember is that hamsters have extremely poor eyesight already. Just as humans, eyesight diminishes with age. Your hammie could just be getting old (syrians live 2-4 years and dwarfs 1-3 years). That would be why he isn't as active as he used to be either. Unless the discharge is a strange color (green or red), I wouldn't worry. He probably just isn't grooming himself as often as he used to. If your still worried, a trip to the vet may be in order.

All the best.

If u check on the computer it may be that your hamster is dying. when a hamsters doent do much life run or eat it may be that its too old. Yes hamsters are blind but not that kind of blind that u cant see its the color blind part that hamsters can only see in black and white.

There could be a chance that your hamster may be blind but i suggest you go to the nearest veternarion. Although they may be expesive you could search for any answers on ask.com google.com or a hamster and pet website. I love animals esspecially hamsters so so very much so i do hope he turns out okay.

That's a really good question. I had several hamsters I'm pretty sure they couldn't see well. My hamster, Hampbee had blue eyes and I'm pretty sure he was blind. So yea..I guess your is hamster

You have two options that I can think of. You can take him to a Small Animal Veterinarian, or you can let his symptoms progress at home. Sorry, most rodents only live up to three years.

Maybe he is depressed. Take him to a vet or set him free in the wild.

he is sick, get him to a vet as soon as you can. little rodent pets can die very fast from the smallest of things.
