January is usually really cold (case in point - it's in the low 30's today). February is usually in the 40's, mostly cloudy and drizzly. Weather starts to improve in March and by April, it's full blown Spring (much like Spring is anywhere else in the country).
I can't believe people make such a big deal about the cold weather here...I grew up in Michigan where average temperatures are in the teens in the winter months! Please, people!!

rainy of course but there are breaks and the veiw of elliot bay is amazing especially at pikes place market

Scattered showers.....cloudy with periods of showers...light rain and cool...heavy fog and light showers...heavy rain with morning fog....steady rain turning in to evening showers...sprinkles with sun breaking thru late in the day. and so on and so on and so on...
