Thinking of going to Prague in March/April but passport runs out on 1st July this year. Will only be staying about 5 days.

As long as you have 3 months on your passport you will be fine

You only need6 months if you are off long haul

You need 6 months left on your passport to go to Prague and most other countries, so renew your passport. You'll get the time left on your current passport added to the new one anyway so you don't lose any time.

I'm in the Army & based in Germany. Whenever I've travelled back to Britain, nobody's asked me that question when I've booked ferries etc.
Equally, when I've been to the more exotic locations in (the Middle East etc.), my Unit only wanted to Know the Expiry Date. If it expired on Tour, they'd renew it from wherever we were.
Maybe it's a Military Thing!

It is purely down to the country you are travelling to.I am amazed how many people on this site dont know UK is in the EU or what that means as travel between most EU countries dont require passport unless you use air travel

Most countries require 6 months.

I think you´ll find as most people have pointed out that you will need 6 months. Although for some strange and wonderful countries longer might be needed.

you will need to get it renewed as you need to have 6 months left on it when you return from prague

in Europe most countries will let you in with 3 months left on your passport.
