I do both, and it a personal preference, Depends on how I like the garment to look, I must admit, when I knit I have to block just about everything and with crochet I don't.
Knitting does use two needles, Crochet uses a hook.
Crochet is faster, and not as many complicated stitches.
Try both and make your own preference.

Knitting is done with two long blunt tip "needles". Knitting works in rows. You knit one stitch at a time but you continually have a whole row of stitches on the needles at one time to be worked.
Crocheting uses only one needle called a crochet hook. The crochet hook has a little hook on the end that catches the yarn and pulls it through a loop on the hook. Crocheting works one stitch at a time completing each stitch as you go across the row. After each stitch is complete you have only one loop on the hook.

The difference between knitting an crocheting, is that knitting is using two metal sticks, where crocheting you are using a hook. Personally, to me crocheting is a lot easier than knitting. The directions are a lot easier to follow then knitting.

knitting includes 2 needles threading one like by a particular knot, crotcheting includes 1 needle and makes a a lot tighter and superior stich... theres double knitting, tripple kniting, twist knitting, and distinct tecniques alongside with purling and knitting. at the same time as crocheting includes as a lot as 4 distinct stiches in accordance to row, and is way less complicated then knitting.

they are very different, I learned to knit from my mom when I was a young teen so I do it very well, I learned to crochet after my kids were born. It was hard to learn but it is faster, I have both knitted and crocheted things for me and for family and friends.

The tools used. 2 needles vs 1 hooked needle.
Both methods make loops and twists of yarn or string to create a pattern.

I really can't remember who taught me how to crochet. For some reason, I think it was my mother, but it may have been my older sister.
We started out learning to crochet by making collars for our kittens. Then we crocheted clothes for our Barbie dolls. Then we graduated into making booties for ourselves to wear during the winter.
In my opinion, learning to crochet is easier than learning to knit.
