IT IS A 10 GALLON TANK WITH 6 TROPICAL FISHES ABOUT 1.5 INCHES LONG AND A BOTTOM FEEDER ABOUT 2.5 INCHES. THERE IS A HOLLOW TREASURE BOX AT THE BOTTOM OF THE TANK ABOUT 6.5 INCHES HIGH AND 4 INCHES WIDE. CAN I KEEP THE EEL IN THE BOX WITH OUT ANY EXTRA ATTENTION? ALSO HOW WOULD I FEED THE EEL AND WHAT DOES IT EAT?...WILL IT EAT THE OTHER FISHES?

Think and inch fish for every gallon. That should help.

You already have a little to many fish.
Putting a eel in the tank woulnt be the best idea.
It would most likey eat the fish,
i doubt it would eat the bottom feeder.
Is this a salt water tank your talking about?
If so a eel would not be a good choice.

If the eel doesn't eat the other fish it will be very overcrowded. A 10 gallon tank will not really support most species of eels alone, much less any other fish with it. Sorry. PeeTee

No!!! Eel s will climb out. Thy don't like being kept in tanks. Also, some are salt water and some are fresh water eels. And 10 gallon is too small!

Some of the best, pretty hardy fish out there are rainbowfish (3-4 inches, depending on species), corydoras (2-3 inches), swordtails (4 inches), platies (2-3 inches), African butterfly fish (5 inches), and diamond tetras (2 inches). These are all community fish and easy to maintain. These are some of the fish that I have had the best of luck from in my tank so far and have had no trouble from any of them. Remember, one inch per gallon, too. :)

I would suggest going online to a fish site, then look for the eel breed you want, and figure out how much water space it needs, and how aggressive it is towards your kinds of fish.

That depends on type of ell your looking for! Some types can become large and eat small fish. Ells are a shy kind of fish and generally feed at night or when the lights are turned off.
