I have started a business within the last 2 years,by myself I have turned over nearly £232000 in 2 years, money has become important to me as a better quality of life. How would I feel being skint or broke, who cares I've been there before. Many of you will say without god or friends etc money means nothing,my views are its so important to lead a better life isn't it.........?
I'm married very happily, when I met my wife I was a window cleaner earning £200 per week.
so what I'm asking is what do you feel about money.

money for me is security, with it i know i can go on with life doing things i want and need to do.
Having very little money some People say isn't so bad if they have a happy life. But in my opinion having little money is stressful having to worry how to pay bills and have food for the week.
I'm a student so I'm living all the time in this realm. But i do feel people should at one time or another should live with little money. It puts into reality the price of things and That money does not grow on trees, (my brother is in his teens and has no concept of money when he goes to collage he's going to get a shock he'll have to learn how budget money or starve)
With the ways things are going you will have a very poor state of living if you cant make money.
if you don't have money set aside for when you age old you'll be classed as a burden on society and will be treated terribly.
You'll get poorer hostable treatment.
and be disscriminated agents for not wearing good clothes or unable to afford to eat out.
Putting you children into the best education will be impossable and it will be unable to support them when they need help.
yes with money you can make the world go round and gates will open easily.
if you have little money the world is a slower with many boundary's.
But saying that all i want if enough to live without stress and cope with suprises and worrys, I need no castle or flashy shiny car just sercurity.

It's useful, but it's not the be-all-and-end-all of life, better or otherwise.
Ultimately, if I have enough money to pay the bills and a bit over to cover emergencies, have a holiday and get clothes/food/presents for the kids birthdays, that's enough to me.
What is your idea of a 'better' life? A bigger, faster car? A bigger house? Holidays somewhere exotic? Sure, then it's going to cost you!
But for me, my priorities are a job that allows me plenty of time with the family. The fact that my shifts finish when my daughter leaves school, that I have a morning off when my wife does so we can spend time together and I don't 'bring home' my work with me is far more important than the money.
I work in a care home and my wife works at a school. Neither of us earn a fortune but we mostly enjoy what we do and feel it's worthwhile. We have an old but functioning car, one 20 year old TV and mostly we holiday in the UK. But we eat well, have several hundred books and have enough money in the bank to cover any emergencies.
What would I do if I won £1,000,000 in the lottery? I'd buy a house closer to my daughter's school so her friends could drop round more often.
But that's because I realised many years ago that if I couldn't be happy with what I had there and then, having a million and living in a castle wasn't going to make me any happier. So I'm happy with the money I have because I have the life I want.
For me a better quality life is a happier one. And happiness is a state of mind, not a bank balance.

Even the Bible acknowledges that there is a sense in which money makes the world go around (Ecclesiastes 7:12; 10:19). But I guess there is a need to define what one means by the saying. However, without a medium of exchange, there would be no places of worship, no goods or services and life would probably be worthless. The Bible also tells us to make friends through the use of riches. Having a certain amount of money or a medium of exchange is simply a necessity in this life. Just do not be greedy.

Money does make everything happen. It seems that is what everything is all about. Nobody invents anything because it is needed by the community. The only reason it gets needed is if the manufacturer can make a profit. No profit////no manufacturer. Yes love is a free commodity. But the results of love are in no way free.... The rent, the grocerys,,,everything to allow the love is not free.

A friend of mine became so obsessed by earning money
and his own success,
his wife ended up sleeping with a neighbour
because he forgot the little things that make life important
even though he bought her expensive handbags and designer clothes and cars and a huge house
And anything else she wanted
He thought he'd be better off because of his wealth
but she has taken most of his money from the divorce settlement
And the house and he has to pay maintenance

Money has caused families to breakdown, countries to declare war, humanity is searching for survival by making money the conquest not choosing life and Earth. Money is a dead tree. There should be equality in pay, government salaries lowered, sports and entertainment is ridiculous with it's payment structure. If I could control the world's money this planet's humanity would never struggle or be in debt again. How can millionaires who have made their money from hardworking struggling humans, know that their are dying and hunger on this planet but their 40 room mansions and fine champagne, cars make you forget that fact. Humans should all have privelages on this planet.

1st. Tim. 6:9-10 reads: "But they that will be rich (or desire to be) fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
For love of money(the lust for) is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after (desire it in excess), they have erred (were seduced) from faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."
And I like money too,it is what makes or breaks us in this world today. It's the difference between a third world country, and a country like Canada, U.S.A., or Great Britian, etc..
But what you forget is that yes, everything is great right now in your life, but will it be so five years from now?.A fool and his money part company quickly. There is nothing wrong with making an honest living and having lots of money for the fruits of your labours. It's when your wealth comes through ill-gotten gains that you should be concerned.God wants us all to be rich with his blessings, but rest assured that He can put holes in your bucket in a hurry if you give Him reason to do so.
You could have all the money you'll ever desire in this life, but what happens in the afterlife? Or do you even care?.We take nothing from this life when we die but our righteous acts do follow us. see Rev. 14:13 and Rev. 19:8
Personally, I don't base my material worth on money, property, belongings, etc. These are temporal things, they come and they go, as do we, when we die.
Don't get me wrong, I have all that I need in my life as well, a good job, good health, a loving wife who I'm really appreciative of,a beautiful home,a nice vechicle, two beautiful daughters, and my belief upon Christ, who is my most valuable possession. All this my friend was made possible for me by Christ. And I thank Him every day for it.I'd suggest that you swallow your self pride, and realise where your blessings came from, and give thanks where thanks is due. Maybe your blessings come as a result of your wife's faith in God if you don't possess any yourself.
Anyway, I apoligise if it sounds like I'm judging you, because I'm not, but I sense that your ego might be getting the best of you. However I could be wrong, it certainly wouldn't be the first time I was, (or the last).
And no I'm not a self-righteous hipocrite. I do practice what I preach, and repent when I fall short.

You live according to your means and why not? If you make more money you will have more luxuries. I know my husband and I have gone through our beginning hard times. We became successful and our children were pretty much spoiled. The rug was pulled from under us - leaving us in pretty bad shape financially and it doesn't help that we have been there before. The higher you are the higher the fall. We are still not back to the beginning but It is different from what our family was accustomed to. So love money, but dont want to be accustomed to it.

I considered it a means to an end.. once you have enough to reach a desired "end" - then money isn't so important..
I guess everyone must decide what is important in life..
If you were to visit a hospice.. for example.. and discuss this with people at the end of their lives.. they can impart much wisdom on what is most important.. and money isn't a biggie..
