Because anyone with half a brain has the sense to stay clear of chat shows! And scum/slags/sluts/junkies have nothing better to do than to stand up on stage and make absolute fools of themselves. And when the sensible people come home from a long day of work, they take pleasure in watching these people making fools of themselves and thank god that they aren't in the same situation :) any of the above!

Would you believe to try to convince the world that scum/slags/sluts/junkies/beatnics is normal?
If what's portrayed can be shown to be "normal" - it paves the way for the drug bandits to move in so's everyone can take a piece of the action.
It's sick and the networks should clean up their act and go back to I Love Lucy

I consider those "talk" shows to be societal version of a bug zapper.
The scum/slags/sluts/junkies/beate's all get "lured" on the show ... money for appearance/perks/etc. ... then get "zapped" in their exploitation.
I've never seen any positive redeeming follow-up.

Because normal, moral, law abiding citizens do not air their dirty laundry in public. Scum don't mind who knows their business, plus it's a free night in a hotel then they get there 5 minutes of fame.

Because they need the money they pay them for going on the show, and making an absolute pillock of themselves. Some people thinks it makes good viewing.

Because normal is boring. We want to see these people really even though they make us recoil from the tv sometimes. They do at least make us feel better about being us!

Because it would be dull if someone "normal" was on.
Anyway they are all fake and a waste of time. If they people aren't actors then they just want to be on TV.

I've heard that most of those people are actors but no actors could ever be that stupid let alone act it!
