Because the international community won't let the Israelis take off their kid gloves and deal with the Arabs in the only manner Arabs seem to understand: annhilation followed by a downright Machiavellian occupation.
Israel has acquiesced to 99% of Palestinian demands in peace talks dating back 30 years, yet the Arabs always seem to find just one more last thing that will allow them to break off talks and continue in their favorite pastime: killing Jews.
One day, perhaps the world will wisen up and realize the real problem lies not with Israel, but with Islam...whose adherents are involved in almost every armed conflict in the world today.

In the Civil War there were 364,511 Union deaths and approximately 133,821 Confederate deaths. Now, if the Palestinians eradicated Israel, that would resolve the "issue" as far as the Middle Eastern countries are concerned, and I don't believe the rest of the world, with its growing anti-semitism would be willing to join the U.S. in that battle against Islam, just as they aren't willing to join us now. But, if Israel did the same to Palestine, the whole Middle East would explode. And I would bet the people of both Palestine and Israel would disagree with your assessment of slavery being the bigger issue than their right to exist. The Civil War ended in 4 years because the Confederates surrendered. They are two very different conflicts and you can't equate the two.

because the issue divided the North and the South was something that people just believed, but was a belief that could be changed with relative ease because there was the real rationale for the way the South was acting. The issue dividing Israel and Palestine is deeply embedded into their religious texts and the people in that region of the world are very religious...more so than the US. When people try to argue with something their religious text says is "the right way" people have a hard time adjusting and become deeply offended when people challenge their religious beliefs.

No. The Civil conflict become began no longer as a conflict to end slavery yet via fact the southern states had to circulate away the union. Secession is forbidden. Abe Lincoln did no longer difficulty the Emancipation Proclamation until 2 years into the conflict via fact he did no longer want to extra isolate and rile up the South. The South went to conflict via fact they felt that the North become dictating unfair rules and regulations. they actually in comparison the North to the way the Colonies felt in the direction of super Britain on the time of the conflict for Independence. of direction the regulation had to do with slavery and ending slavery finally interior the recent aspects of the US - the South observed this as a danger to their way of existence. As an American it may be quite advantageous for me to have the ability to assert that the Civil conflict become fought via fact the North took the ethical severe floor and had to place an end to slavery. yet that must be a lie. The South began the conflict, the North had to persist with, slavery become ended as a byproduct of the conflict and as the thank you to punish the South. that's evidenced by applying the form wherein black Southerners have been dealt with for one hundred years after the top of the conflict. As a usa we allowed this therapy to proceed quite than danger yet another terrible conflict.

There has been nothing but conflict in the Middle East since time immemorial. It's in their DNA. It will always be. It's foolish to try to stop it. Getting involved only blows up in our faces.
