You'll have another at 28 weeks most likely...then again at 32 weeks...other than that they usually dont like to give them to you. But if you tell him your having pain and the baby hasnt moved and your really worried he may give you another one soon. But you have to keep in mind that they still not be able to tell the sex and even if they think they know theres no way to be 100% until the baby is born. When i went at 20 weeks they could only tell me 80% that they thought it was a girl. So if your really wanting to know now Id go with the pain story but if you can wait you'll probably have another in 6-7 weeks.

Unless the doctor has a reason to be concerned about the baby, most likely they will not schedule another sonogram.
I am in a similar predicament as you. They think it is a girl, but I wasn't too sure from the picture. So I'm going in to get a 3D/4D ultrasound this month to find out the sex (which can be done better with a 3D. For another 2D ultrasound it is 75 dollars. But for what I'm doing it is $185, but it's worth it to us. We are excited to get a video of our sweet baby and to see what she might look like, plus confirm that it really is a girl and we can decorate our nursery the way we want.

An ultrasound is a very expensive medical test, which someone has to pay for -- either the individual or her insurance.
Insurance companies do not want to dish out money for unnecessary tests. And it causes everyone's premiums to go up. Personally, I don't want to pay more for my insurance just so people can find out what they are having.
Also, if they can't see the genitals again, then it's just wasted. AND an ultrasound isn't even always accurate.
Your doctor doesn't want to get into trouble with the insurance company for fraud, for ordering a test that is not medically necessary.
The best way to get another sonogram is to pay for it yourself. If you want a test that is not medically necessary, that's how it should be.

I had that situation. I agreed to pay for it privately (insurance would not). It was about $110 (but that was 10 years ago).
They will pay for 3 that are medically justifiable. Finding out the sex of the baby is not. The doctor wants to save the 3 he has for complications that may arise toward the end.

You might not be able to have another ultrasound due to your insurance company. They might only pay for one ultrasound. I had one ultrasound and wanted another, but was told I would have to pay for it out of pocket. Call your insurance company, or try to get your doctor to "fudge" the reason why you need an ultrasound. Some companies will do it if it's medically necessary.

You can pay for one, you can call places that do them and ask to pay cash, go to your doctor and tell him you want to have another ultrasouind done in your favor, they cannot deny you one if you ask. I have asked bluntly with my second child and never got denied.
You have the right to know what you are carrying but some doctors dont like to make appointments for another ultrasound unless the patient is paying cash.
Or you can act like you want a 3d ultrasound get a precription for one go to your local hospital and just use your insurance, works everytime LOL

congrats that its a boy 1st of all and 2d of the tech isn't meant to make it easier to be responsive to that some thing is faulty all they do is get the %. and deliver them on your well being care provider and your well being care provider will relatively make it easier to be responsive to if some thing wasn't appropriate i be responsive to simply by fact while i exchange into approximately 8 months pregnant the ultrasound tech took the scans and then took them to my well being care provider i went abode and the well being care provider talked approximately as me appropriate away and informed me what exchange into incorrect and that i had to bypass directly to the medical institution, yet once you're stressful that the pupil dr. isn't appropriate then i recommend merely call your dr. and ask him to envision over your ultrasound effects and contact you with any new whether its sturdy or undesirable...sturdy success and that i be responsive to that your stressful..
