Are you sure that's not a yellow-jacket nest? They are aggressive near the nest, it's often under-ground. They're pests and can be sprayed with a clear conscience. There are 'knock down' products sold for use by line-men who often have to deal with nests. Find and spray the nest entrance. It can be done from quite a distance at first. Bees are threatened, ecologically valuable, and should be protected as Mike suggests.

they won't fly in strong winds, takes too much energy.
no idea how heavy, but i know a shoe box full of bees weighs about 4lbs thats roughly 10 thousand bees.

Not as heavy as an A but a lot heavier than a C, and on windy days they'll blow away but can usually manage a gentle Beez.

it depends on what the bee has been eaing and the kind of lifestyle is leads, you might try finding out if it has inherrited any conditions concerning wright from its parents, bees can fly when it is windy but they choose not to.
