In most states you need a doctor's prescription. There are plans to make it an over the counter drug (so it can be used properly), but they may not have passed into law in your state. Ask your pharmacist in any major grocery store, Eckers, CVS, Walgreen's etc. first if they can sell the pill to you. If they say no then you will have to see a doctor.

call your local office of social services, they can help or if you have a planned parenthood. they are pretty good at the whole patient confidentiality thing. they will set you up with birth control for afterwards.
