Has to do with footnotes,end notes and citations...indicating "same source"

Edit: Latin, short for "ibidem", meaning "the same place"

IBID is a Latin word (ibidem, meaning in the same place) relates to the same work, cited immediately before. (a) ibid can refer to the same page: ...

e.g. (exempli gratia - for example)
