Hey TW -
Jade plants (Crassula sp) can be suprisingly hardier than you may expect. I have seen these in Southern California going through some extremes in temperature and still come back. I am not certain how established the plant is (how long youve had it, its age and if its in the soil or a pot, etc) and I also do not know how extreme cold it experienced (to me, 40 degrees is extreme!) :)

My advice: if its still cold, then bring it indoors if possible; if its in the ground I would leave it where it is and hope for the best. Dont overwater it and defin. dont fertilize it particularly if you feel it may still be experienced to more cold snaps.

But, dont give up hope -- if the plant is established, old enough and did not experience too much cold for too long a period, it may just come back from its 'dormancy'.

Good luck

In all probability, you live where a Jada plant can't live outdoors. The only way you can enjoy it is to bring it inside. It is probably too late, but you could try digging it up and transplanting it into a pot to put in side. Always check what zone a plant can live in if you plan to put it outside.
