I need to buy a computer and am looking at the Macs and PCs. I would prefer a laptop. I will use it for both work and entertainment. I am not tech savvy and would like your input. Thanks!

Get a Mac. It can run more software than a PC since it can run Windows software plus all OS X software, it's much more secure, and the cost of ownership (cost of the box + cost of maintaining the system) is much lower.

If it where my choice, I would pick the Mac. Apple computers are much more advanced. Also, if you like chatting online, it has a built in camera. But on the downside, they are much more expensive. In my sources, there is a website(s) that may help making the decision easier. Besides, if you think you can only get Windows for Pc, that's not true. You can always just buy the pack, like you would have to for PC anyways.

i pick pc all the way

1.the mouse on a mac only has 1 button on it so salecting things on text and such will be frusterating

2. software compatability, most software manufactures make there software spasificly for windows so if you get a mac your software salection will be greatly limited there are some programs designed for windows that work on macs but not much

one thing in macs favor though is the software stability, from the reviews i've read the mac os is prity much glitch free so you won't get program errors like you do with windows might be the same with virous defences too

but i still prefer pc i'm 25 and i've been exposed to only windows scence the 3rd grade

Apple's computers are much nicer and have a WIDE verity of software. like PCIV said. Macs that are shipping now include intel chips which give faster enviroments and, with yor own copy of PC, run windows XP

From what you said not a Mac....they dont work with as much as others Pcs do and they are more for art and music(major) work.

It also depends on the amount of money you have to spend on this.

Still, if you arent tech savvy, I would highly reccomend a not mac.

MACS!!! You need windows, just put it into the mac computer. It doesn't work the other way. Plus, Apple is the biggest innovator. Google MacSaber, and be Amazed.

with apple you are limited on software

PC software is everywhere.

forget apple, not that they aren't good computers, they are probably alot better than a PC and windows, but do you want to deal with the limited supply of software.
